Lead generation business doubled its size during lockdown while owner delivered a baby

Shanei Bornman, who runs a lead generation business called Born Intelligence, managed to double the size of her business in the middle of lockdown. Absolutely intent on not giving up because of the lockdown, she found practical tools that helped her pull off this miracle – doubling her business even during all phases of the lockdown and while being very pregnant.
Considering there are roughly 8 million people worldwide doing lead generation, Shanei first started by crushing down any idea that she could not make a difference. She knew people need sales; she knew they need to reach out not only to new customers, but to the right customers; she could do it for them but there always seemed to be a ceiling on the growth of her own business.
Soon after, she bumped into owner of Shepherd Consultants, Marcel Wasserman, who persuaded Shanei to take a close look at a management system he uses in his consulting:

“What the programs taught me was that I had all these other functions, other than just straight production, which were completely neglected. I had no goals or strategy for the business. We were making enough money, but we were not really growing,” added Shanei.

While tackling her business with both hands, she was not only forced to take maternity leave but had to confront handing over her cherished management and production functions to others. “And I did. Again, following some of the very basic points of the System, I turned over some of my functions and it worked,” said Shanei.
In October 2020, just as she was giving birth to her baby boy, the business doubled – and it is continuing to grow. Shanei claims that one of the key lessons learnt is the need to exchange with clients in abundance. “This has become the source of power for the business. It allowed me to differentiate Born Intelligence from the millions of other companies trawling these same waters.”
“If I have any advice for others in business it is this: learn practical tools to organise and grow your business. There is a roadmap that you can and should follow.”
Shanei says her target is to grow her business 3 times in 2021 as she now knows how to go about getting it done.
